Its been a couple of weeks now from returning from New Zealand. I had a wonderful time. I was there photographing the wedding of Francis and Nick in the Queen Charlotte Sound located on the northern end of the South Island. The Brides family ” The Husbands” put me up in a cute little 70’s bach (NZ term for holiday house), with a fridge full of food and beer, I was set.
After returning and getting a serious bout of New Zealand blues an Airmail letter arrived, with a hand written letter and card inside. Its was from the recently married Nick and Francis who found the time to send me the letter while they were on their honeymoon.
My favourite extract from the letter
” Thank you so much for photographing not only our wedding but the lead up, surrounds and preparation. You were so much more professional than us and we would have been lost without you”
” We think that you would love to photograph here and every now and then we hear a click and think that you are here following us like a shadow”
It has been a long time since I received a hand written letter, my last would have been my grandma. It was a great surprise and I thank them for the kind words. It definitily helps me get through all the editing.
Bring back the hand written letter..
